Competition shirts

Competition Shirts

Thanks to Sarah and Rosalie for all your help.

It has been decided to order red and blue tshirts for competition with the falcotech logo on the left chest side (approx 2x4") and our number #3193 on the sleeve. The shirts will cost $10 each. Each member will be asked to purchase one red and one blue at a total cost of $20.  Sarah and Rosalie will be taking your shirt size and payments starting Monday.  We need to complete the order by Wednesday, Feb 16, 2011 to get our shirts before competition in Pittsburgh.  (If your NOT going to Pittsburgh you still need to order by Wednesday because we are only placing one order).

We are still looking for a shirt to fulfill the sponsorship requirements.

MENTORS, PARENTS AND BOOSTERS:  We have found a button down, wicked, baseball shirt that we are putting the Falcotech logo (left chest) and number (on the sleeve).  They are available in both the red and blue for $20 each... meaning if you want both colors it would cost $40.  Orders to Sheila Henline by Wednesday, February 16, 2011. You may email me your order.  Thank you.

For this week....

Posted on January 17, 2011 at 8:01 AM Comments comments (0)

Hello all,

A reminder that there will be no meeting on Monday due to the holiday. We will be meeting at the very least on both Tuesday and Wednesday after school, hopefully to finalize the design.

We have not seen several of you at the meetings recently. If you want to be considered for traveling to the competitions, I suggest you start making an effort to show up. A reminder that you should be keeping your time on the timesheets sent to you, which also need to be signed EVERY DAY by either Ric or myself. These timesheets are also available online at our website (look for the "Team Documents" tab). If we don't have records of your time spent on this project, it will not count towards traveling.

We also need our team photographers at the meeting to record what is being done!

We will be ordering aluminum Monday (or Tuesday), so we should have it by Wednesday. We will need to unload and organize it, then start cutting pieces for our frame this week.

Our Support Subteam is organizing our next fundraiser--candy bars. We should have product in soon and selling it by next week.

See you all on Tuesday,

Hint... Hint

Hello all,

Christmas has come early!! The first official FRC Game Hint has been released!! Go here to see it:

http://www.usfirst.org/roboticsprograms/frc/content.aspx?id=18713

Yes, that's the hint...not much there, is it? That's the idea--they don't want to make it easy. If you are a member of ChiefDelphi.com you can read the discussion thread (already at over 200 posts in less than 5 hours!). Read it here:

http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=88030

Feel free to discuss it amongst yourselves or with the rest of the teams worldwide on CD (Chief Delphi).

Go nuts!!

Merry Christmas.... and an update

Hello all,

Just a reminder that there are NO MEETINGS this week with Wednesday being the last day of school (I'm sure no one will want to stay after school) and the school will be closed on Thursday.

As everyone knows, our Kickoff event is Saturday, January 8. I am trying to arrange it so that we can watch the Kickoff event and announcement of the Game with one of the other NEOFRA teams. Last year, we went up to Warren and watched it with Team 48. More to come on that at a later date.

Expect an email shortly from our Support Subteam about a date and time for a Team Social and bowling party to happen at Wedgewood Lanes, probably sometime next week.

I have been told that FIRST will be issuing a hint or two about the upcoming game, which I will pass on to everyone when they are released. The FIRST community has taken notice of some recent, more subtle hints in messages sent out by the Game Development Committee about steps or stairs...not sure, but it could mean there will be step to climb, perhaps to a raised platform.

I am hereby giving EVERYONE fair warning: we will be having a ALL-HANDS team meeting (that means everyone MUST be there) on Wednesday, January 5 at 2:30pm in room 174. No excuses for other club meetings or Drama Club practices. This will be our most important meeting of this season to date, so I need EVERYONE, rookie and veteran alike, to be there. No excuses! We will be discussing the upcoming Kickoff event, Build schedule, and time sheets (yes, time sheets) amongst many other things.

Finally, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a Happy New Year. Spend time with family and friends...because Build Season is just around the corner.

Parent Organizational Meeting

Attention Parents and Students:

There will be an organizational meeting for the parents this Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 6:30 pm in Room 172 at the High School.  Please try to squeeze this into your busy schedule.  We need parents to open a checking account, create a roster of students to keep track of their fundraising efforts, another parent to fill out the 501c3 form...THIS IS GREATLY NEEDED ASAP, and a few other things that are escaping me at this time.  Once we get our account opened we will start fundraising in earnest.  Please contact Sheila Henline on how you may want to contribute to the robotics program but cannot attend this meeting.  Thank you.

Meeting changes

Posted on November 11, 2010 at 8:08 AM Comments comments (0)

The Robot subteam will meet on Wednesdays at 2:30pm in room 174. These meetings will last about an hour because we will begin discussing subsystems on a robot (drivetrains, transmissions, wheels, pneumatics, etc) so plan accordingly, and plan on taking notes!!

The Support subteam will meet on Thursdays at 2:30pm in room 174. While I will still be there, these meetings will largely be run by your Support subteam co-captains, Rosalie Sepesy and Sarah Sheffield. Plan on these meetings lasting an hour as well.

Thank you.

:)
